Cliche Reasons to Smile Post.

Somedays I think we just need that reminder that we need to smile. So today I decided to share what made me smile:

  • Waking up in a panic thinking I had slept in, and realizing I still had 2 hours to sleep.
  • Dreaming about high school, and remember how glad I am that I'm in college now.
  • It's finally March 1st. The countdown to finding out if I'm going to Sydney continues to come closer.
  • A good morning text from Scott.
  • Curling my hair and having it look good.
  • Sneezing while curling my hair and banging my knee against the counter and burning my hand.
  • Eating a Toaster Strudel and having it be much more satisfying than expected.
  • Walking into my roommates room and having her tell me I looked pretty.
  • Smelling my perfume and realizing I made a good choice.
  • Not having to wait for the bus as it pulled up when I got to the curb.
  • Fantastic oldies music playing on the bus.
  • Talking to Aubrey Easton about life on the way to class.
  • Getting to class on time.
  • Having a homework check in class and actually having my homework completed.
  • Getting sassy with Matt Porter.
  • Having the boy behind me in class mention the graph on the board looking like the stairway to heaven.
  • Doing the Scotsman in accounting. Oh I love Utah State.
  • Finding someone's number on my desk in Business Law.
  • Proceeding to text the number the whole class.
  • Cookies and Cream Drops. Little candies from heaven.
  • Having my professor continue to amaze me with how many red suspenders he has.
  • Buying a hot dog for $1 outside the business building.
  • Missing the bus by about 30 seconds, but laughing about it.
  • Sitting on the bench with Trev and talking about watches for a solid 5 minutes.
  • Watching everyone check the mail to see if their missionaries wrote them.
  • Walking by the mail not even bother checking because I have embraced the fact I don't get letters.
  • Having the dorm room open so I didn't have to get out my key.
  • Attempting to write a guitar song in 30 minutes.
  • Having my roommate Allie take me to guitar so I didn't have to walk.
  • Having Allie take the longest route possible to turn around.
  • Telling my guitar instructor it was JB's birthday.
  • Continuing to make Beiber jokes all lesson.
  • Having Leon (my guitar instructor) flatter me with me "song writing skills".
  • Learning how to dead strum.
  • Walking to the bus with Leon.
  • Pronouncing to total strangers that Leon loves JB.
  • Watching my friend Jose run to catch another bus.
  • Having Jose come back when he missed the bus.
  • The bus finally coming.
  • Squishing uncomfortably close to random people on the bus.
  • Pretending my name is Franchesca and having people ask me about it.
  • Somehow determining that the term Beiber now means "Someone just checked out your butt".
  • Talking about spring break and realizing it is 3 days away.
  • Rushing to change and go to Tae Kwon Do.
  • Testing for a green belt in Tae Kwon Do.
  • Completely forgetting how to do a back 180 kick and having the boys behind me laugh.
  • Leaving class early to go study for a midterm.
  • After 5 attempts, finally memorizing where all 52 grammatical and spelling errors are in the practice test.
  • Finding out there are practice quiz problems in my book.
  • Watching American Idol with the roommates while eating mac and cheese.
  • Having a brown boy sing Bruno Mars.
  • Having the reminder how obsessed I am with all brown boys, especially Bruno Mars.
  • Falling in love with Paul McDonald and his teeth.
  • Having Kim think that Scotty should sing Michael Buble and having me laugh and the absurdness of the suggestion.
  • Having Idol finish and actually getting homework done.
  • iTunes shuffle proving to be effective for once.
  • Attempting to learn We're So Far Away on guitar.
  • Playing my song I wrote for my roommate and having her compliment me.
  • Blog stalking and finding an uplifting video.
  • The exact 1 minute goodnight call from Scott.
  • Listening to You and I by Ingrid Michaelson and really listening to the lyrics.
  • Receiving another text from Scott even though I thought he was going to sleep.
  • Finally yawning and deciding it is time for bed.
  • Seeing this picture and remember I get to see this boy in 3 short days! (:

Remember everyone, even in the worst of situations, you can find a reason to smile.

Sydney?

I've given up on the whole 30 days thing. I know I know, it's only 2 more days, and I'm giving up. Oh well. It's been so long since I've even posted on this blog. You can only expect so much from me. So really, there is one reason for this post... I just wanted to let people know, the application is in. I have filled out my Sydney application and I'll find out in a few weeks if I'm going! I'm so excited (: So I'll be sure to keep you updated, but I just thought I'd give you that little detail. WOOOH!

Day 20 – A picture of somewhere you’d love to travel

Sydney, Australia

So, the past year and a half I have been seriously considering going on a study abroad to Australia. I honestly think it would be so much fun! So why Australia may you ask? Really that's a stupid question. It's rather self explanatory, but let me elaborate.

Australia isn't the United States. Granted, I love the U S of A, but I really want to live out side of it for a time just to see what it would be like. Australia is perfect because it is foreign, but not foreign enough that I'd go insane. I wouldn't have to learn a new language, I could manage the food, and lets be honest, everyone loves a man with an accent!

I was wanting to go to Australia in the Fall of 2011, but I have braces and quite frankly I don't want to visit another country for an extended period of time and have to worry about that. So if things seem to be going well come the end of this next semester and my life seems to be okay for me to take a 4 or so month leave, I would love to go to Australia for my Spring semester of 2012. I should HOPEFULLY have these blasted braces off by that point as well. So all the better! Also Utah State has some awesome exchanges with Australia and the Business program, so my scholarship would transfer over there, so I wouldn't have to worry about tuition. The main cost is just going to be the plane ticket over there. I guess we'll see though! We all have dreams, not all of them come true, but this is something I would LOVE to do.
